Aloha BOMA members and friends.

It’s amazing to see how 2018 is flying by so quickly.  I’ll have to say that we have a select team of very talented individuals on our Board of Directors this year.  They selflessly invest invaluable time, aside from their already busy schedules, meeting once a month to further discuss the organization’s performance, as well as plan and coordinate various events for our members throughout the year.  In reflecting on how each person contributes to the organization in their own way and recognizing that their participation is equally vital to its success, it’s imperative that these actions never go unnoticed.  My goal as President is to not only see things through this year, but ensure that our President elect and her team are prepared for next year, so that they can continue to grow and progressively strengthen BOMA’s initiatives in Hawaii.

We’ve already taken strides into significant opportunities this year.  A great example is bridging the gap between our Local and International levels, by inviting BOMA International representatives to participate in our Local member luncheons, locally implement the Water and Waste (W2) challenge, as well as having our Officers join a few BOMA International committees.  We also made a decision to partner with other affiliated organizations in Hawaii, such as CCIM, KIA and IREM, whose members are currently active in the Real Estate Industry.  We recognize that Hawaii is small in comparison to our national conglomerates, therefore partnering with our Real Estate affiliates enables us to build and advance in the industry together, with a greater impact and at different levels.  These initiatives alone will set the platform for a great foundation to build on.

Again, I would like to thank our Sponsors for their continued loyalty to BOMA Hawaii, as well as Melissa Pavlicek and her team at HPPA, who continue to consistently support us with our administration as well as legislative efforts.  BOMA Hawaii wouldn’t be able to be in a position to effectively focus on its mission without you.
